Offshore Europe boosts KTH global profile

Exhibiting at Offshore Europe 2009 proved a highly successful venture for KTH.

KTH partnered with client EagleBurgmann to showcase the company’s abilities in design and manufacture of high specification, complex systems for seals and pumps in the oil and gas sector. Managing director Richard Ellis explains the reaction they received from visitors.

“Explaining exactly what we do and putting our services into context for end user clients is a very difficult thing to do, but appearing alongside EagleBurgmann worked really well. We were able to demonstrate that our seal and lube systems are in fact critical systems, without which the whole production process or pipeline will come to a halt.

Another key concept we managed to successfully put across is that all our systems are bespoke. Whilst the basic operating principles remain the same, each unit is individually tailored to the application in question, taking into account operating conditions, available space, the technical demands of the equipment being serviced and of course the highly complex and detailed industry specifications that must be adhered to.

The conversations we had at Offshore Europe proved that our customers are looking for more than just system supply – they are looking for a partner who can offer a detailed design capability that will help optimise their own product performance.

At KTH we have developed a detailed knowledge of the industry specifications and experience of what is required to overcome the operating conditions faced by rotating equipment in the harshest of environments. As a result we are now increasingly involved in the earliest stages of design and build. This helps ensure the end product is ideal for the application and also assists in reducing project costs and build time through a more co-ordinated approach. Highly successful event for KTH

This year was the first time we had exhibited in our own right at Offshore Europe and although the general economic climate is tough, even for the oil and gas industry, we certainly gained great benefit from the event. Our aim was to improve our profile and demonstrate the range of our design, manufacturing and project management skills. From the discussions we had on the stand and contacts that have developed since the exhibition, we have certainly achieved what we set out to do.”
